Tropical Tennis Academy

Overview
We believe in excellence in tennis and personal development. Tennis should be used as a vehicle by which to develop not only winners on the court, but to instill values, character, and a commitment to personal excellence that will make them winners in life. The pathway to excellence is slightly different for each individual player, and can be achieved through the various programs offered at Tropical Tennis Academy for ages 5-18.

Available
Tropical Mighty
Mites (Ages 5-8)
Utilizes QuickStart Curriculum to introduce the game of tennis to the children and work on moving, balance, basic strokes, building rallies, and understanding game concepts like in and out and how to keep score.
Tropical Attackers
(Ages 8-10)
Utilizes QuickStart Curriculum to work on moving, balance, effective strokes with introducing use of spin, rallies from baseline with direction, serving on balance with consistent action, keeping score, understanding the rules of the game, and introduction to match play.
Tropical Future
Stars (Ages 9-13)
Uses full court working on specific footwork patterns, refining stroke shapes including use of spin, stroke direction and depth control, refining serve techniques including use of spin on second serve and developing tactical awareness in match play.
Tropical Elite
(Ages 10-18)
For the player who wants to be the best at tennis that s/he can be! These players commit to a strong work ethic, intensity on and off the court, and a commitment to further their tennis careers. Elite Academy players will be exposed to high level training, advanced match play opportunities with other clubs, and travel together to tournaments on a consistent basis. Students receive training on stroke production, movement, strategy, tactics, psychology (mental/emotional), match play and performance training.
Cardio Tennis Kids
(Ages 12-18)
A
group play activity
featuring action-based tennis drills and games for all ability levels. Cardio
Tennis Kids (CTK) emphasizes movement and fun using music and pedometers. Using
age-appropriate equipment, the CTK environment develops tennis and athletic
skills and improves health and fitness.

WE ARE
The team of tennis professions Tim Wonderlin (Head Pro at Wonderlin Tennis and 25+ years teaching in Marathon), Chris Bull (High School coach and ranked #6 in Florida in USTA NTRP Division), and Adrian River (former top-ranked Junior in Florida) have collaborated to make this possible.

Tropical Tennis Academy is committed to developing well rounded players on and off the court. We have partnered with Extreme Tennis in Hollywood, FL for training opportunities with elite players as well as working with local sports physiologists, physical therapists, nutritionists, tutors, and Boatman’s Sombrero Resort to be able to provide the best training opportunity available for your child.
